KSA’s top 10 investment ranking lauded

JEDDAH – The Cabinet has lauded the Kingdom’s ascendancy to the world’s top 10 most attractive countries for Foreign Direct Investment, as ranked by the recent United Nations Conference on Trade and Development 2010 report.
With inflows of $36 billion in 2009, Saudi Arabia ranked number eight in the UNCTAD report.
Abdullah Al-Rabeah, Minister of Health and Acting Minister of Culture and Information, said after the Cabinet meeting, presided over by Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, that the ministers were briefed on recent talks conducted by the King and the Crown Prince with world leaders on bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
Ministers also reviewed preparations by the General Presidency of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosques for Umrah pilgrims and visitors in Ramadan.
The Cabinet approved a proposal by the Minister of Health to transfer jurisdiction for the supervision of health training institutes and centers from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation to the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
The Cabinet also authorized the President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology to hold talks with the Brazilian government on a draft agreement for space exploration. – SPA/SG
