    The reticular formation is a part of the brain that is involved in awaking/sleeping cycle.(1)

    Location

    The reticular formation is present in the brain stem.

    It is centered roughly in the pons. It is the core of the brainstem running through the mid-brain, pons and medulla (2)

    the brainstem (or brain stem) is the posterior part of the brain, adjoining and structurally continuous with the spinal cord.

    It is including the medulla oblongata, pons and midbrain .(3)
